Third initial doses.

The CDC has recently found that a small group of people who are immunocompromised require a 3 dose vaccination series to achieve the best initial immunity.  We are starting to provide third doses to this small group of people.

Booster Doses.

For those of us who do not fall in the very specific category above, there is currently a discussion underway this week about the likely rollout of booster doses for people over 65 (because older immune systems don't always produce as robust a response to infections as when we are younger), probably around September 20th. Booster doses are expected to be extended to the general population sometime afterward. This is to address evolving evidence suggestion some immunity is slowly waning over time. Booster doses help restore higher levels of circulating antibodies which help us fight off a COVID infection.
