COVID TESTING & VACCINATION

As of March 3, 2023, YCHC will no longer be testing at the Yakutat airport. COVID-19 testing is available at the clinic with appointments as well as home tests.

VACCINATION

Vaccines are available at Yakutat Community Health Center any day now.

Vaccines available:

  • Moderna: For people 18 years and older. 2 doses given 4 weeks (28 days) apart.

  • Pfizer-BioNTech. For people 12 years and older. 2 doses given 3 weeks (21 days) apart.

  • Johnson & Johnson/Janssen. People 18 years and older. 1 shot. 

Booster Doses.

Booster doses help restore higher levels of circulating antibodies which help us fight off a COVID infection.

Symptoms of COVID-19

​People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported- ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms, People with these symptoms may have COVID-19 and must get a COVID-19 test:

  • Fever or chills.

  • Cough.

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

  • Fatigue.

  • Muscle or body aches.

  • Headache.

  • New loss of taste or smell.

  • Sore throat.

  • Congestion or runny nose.

  • Nausea or vomiting.

  • Diarrhea.

This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.
