The Clinic's new 'Crowning' achievement

YCHC has just received their newest innovation - The CEREC.  The Cerec is an all-in-one unit that creates crowns in house.  No more waiting weeks for a crown to be ordered and shipped; no more traveling and staying in hotels only to have a crown installed.  This amazing machine aids the dentist in assisting patients more quickly and effeciently.

To begin with, the Cerec's camera measures the space in a mouth where the needed crown will sit.  That information is then turned over to a milling unit which sculps a milling block into the exact size and color for the patient.  Once the Crown has been heated then it can be installed.  All this within a 2 hour time frame.

New Clinical Advice Hotline
  • The Nurse Advice Hotline is available to patients after hours when the clinic is closed and a non-emergency medical issue arises. If you need medical advice between 5:00 pm and 9:00 am, please call the Nurse Advice Hotline by dialing 907-784-3275.

  • Your call will be transferred through an automatic call distribution to an available Registered Nurse (if the Registered Nurse is on another call, a Health Service Specialist will take your information and the Nurse will call you back).

As many people know, the Yakutat Community Health Center has been working on the development of a new clinic.  And while mammoth numbers of man-hours have gone into development the clinic, planning spaces and developing staffing positions, one of the most exciting moments in this process is watching the building process begin to unfold.  Below are only a few pictures of what is transpiring.  But stay tuned as we will be adding more picture over time.
